Sidebar 2 - Idiosyncrasies

I’m an anxious, over-eager person. When I’m uncomfortable I tend to move to the next thing quickly, always with good intentions but maybe not with due care. Professionally, I can over-correct for this and spin on relatively simple tasks for longer than is reasonable. Alas, we all have our own idiosyncrasies and neuroses. According to Anne Lamott in Bird by Bird it’s my job to capture these as cleanly as I can.¹ Apparently it’s endearing. Time will tell.
